@aktiehandlaren I am not sure about being a US resident, but their paper trade software doesn't allow shorts at least for smaller cap stocks. I like TD Ameritrades trading platform especially its scanner very easy to set up and very helpful finding stocks, but I've never used suretrader so i can't compare it.

Having joined Suretrader two months ago - Commission fees vary from $10 - $6 per trade (two tickets - for each order - to buy and sell) I joined Suretrader because I love short selling but you will find that the stocks that are running will most likely have no shares to short. Provided there is no SSR it cost $25 to locate shares and depending on the stock an additional (less than 1 cent) per share to borrow but yes you will find shares to short :)

Yes $100 per month for level 2 and platform fees. As far as executions goes, they use DAS so my guess is yes. They apparently have good borrows something like a 10000 ticker list or something. I invite you to go chat with customer support if you want real answers though. A broker is kind of like a car, you shop around and chose something for yourself right?

suretrader is good for otc stocks, but etrade and interactive brokers has good shorting lists. I am 26 years old and wonder if i can open an account with 3000 USD at interactive brokers?

And of course - practice paper trading to get used to charts, buying/selling and indicators. A few months of that will help you build confidence and familiarize yourself with everything
