This is definitely one of the most important lessons...remember not to fall in love with any one sector either as you can read about in my Men's Journal feature article as too many marijuana stock lovers recently got crushed!

Another Great Video.
Watched! Very good
Thanks
Thx

most of your shorts I've seen in the last several months are usually in a day but when you know $FTBK is not going to last have you ever gone long in a short like this to wait for it to flounder back to a low flat line. Or will a broker call you on it before it settles?
Good lesson but i wonder how u find the niche like banks , how do you detect whats in play want sector like the banks ? But over all good lesson :)
Great lesson. Thanks Tim
watched Nov 27th2013. FTBK 3rd spike. Bought the breakout of DEAR. Technical Support to break.
^
not sure why Tim is messing with Financial Stock earnings winners when vid before he says not to mess with them.
Thank you Tim. Good video.

Good Lesson!
Can someone please clarify something for me? In video lesson number 5, Tim says not to trade financials because they're risky, yet in this video he says he traded the very same company (DEAR) he said shouldn't be traded. Have I misunstood something? Thanks in advance.
^You're right, I guess he made an exception. In this video he says regarding buying DEAR, "I wouldn't normally do it but it had the right setup, chart, and it was an earnings play"
@belleggie Thank you!
great video lesson...2nd time watching this video!
thank you
Good lesson. Tim
video #5 I get the reasoning behind not trading but also said not to deal with financials yet this video shows the opposite. please clarify
Yes the videos seem contradictory, but he is teaching us the setups and how to trade them when we see them on our own in "hot sectors", I'm not concentrating so much on "financials - did & didn't, do & don't" but how to trade these patterns. Let's not forget, he knows what the hell he's doing, we don't. If we did, we wouldn't be watching these video lessons. Don't miss the point of the lesson.
lesson before don`t do it,now he trades it.no banks.trying to figure it out
ok, thanks.
X
A good watch! Let's hope we can spot some more of these soon.
Summary: Contrary to the previous lesson, niche plays can be played. Financial stocks should not be played, but this was an exception. Distressed banks was the play of the week. Buy technical breakouts on earnings with volume. Short technical breakdowns. Wait for support to break and become resistance. (These notes are for me in case I revisit)
Thanks Tim: (Note to Self) - learn to identify the technical breakouts and breakdowns. Impulse moves provide no support or resistance for fading stocks.
the company does not matter if it fits the strategy... recognize the patterns and the reasons for a possible trade... off to the next, motivated to study and become great
Great Lesson....
Thanks Tim, I am definitely seeing the patterns more clearly.
I don't understand. In PS lesson #5 Tim says to never short financial corporations and he calls students idiots for wanting to short DEAR. Emphasizes that he says in his DVDS that "I don't trade financial companies, I don't want to play distressed financials." In PS lesson #6, he says he bought DEAR and "should have shorted it," and then he gives several examples of distressed financial institutions and when to buy & short them. Not trying to be a smart ass, but what am I missing?

Great Video Lesson. Thanks!
you dont like to trade financials But you will if they have the right set up better to wait for the super spikes good vid
Note: Watch for breaking of technical support/resistance, on long side look for earnings winners matched with volume
Thank you..
great vid
Summary: We do have to understand the big picture. This includes the sector the trends and the stock historical behavior from the past in order to make better decisions. Buy into earning winner with volume, and short over extended stocks when the support is broken. Keep in mind the history of the stock and the current market condition to better decide. This is not a perfect science, it is more an art.

Note: True penny stock with sideways price action to breakouts/down. Late Apr to May.

Not commenting on all videos, but watching all. Some videos watching several times.
great video
Always wait for the right set up. Even if its a play you don't normally like to trade if it looks right it's worth a trade
I thought you don't Trade finical companies 🤔

Watched. Another great video
Short when. Multi day support gets taken out, but sometimes you can't find shares and need to short earlier to secure the shares ... Don't. Buy distressed financial sector stocks unless it is a good setup (breakout on earnings).
I like this lesson a lot. Thanks Tim!
AWESOME!
Chicago 777 Challenge, I learned look for higher highs and lower lows, if you are shorting.

Wow talking about solar and bank hot sectors in 2010 and there have been so many since this. Most recently shipping, marijuana, body cameras, zika blah blah blah. Good stuff!

Thanks for another good lesson. I was warned about being overwhelmed with knowledge, but soaking it up like a sponge. Just finished the Short Stocking DVD. What's left of my mind seems to like this concept a lot.

technicaltrader.net? really? if a stock spikes that high, it can loose its momentum!
Definitely a good video lesson! Will watch many more times
got it
lat video points out not to SHORT financial companies with good earnings. they are a different niche and move differently. here TIM explains they way these stocks can be traded by looking at catalyst and technical support to ride them up or down. thank you
Watched
Thanks Tim. After all of your videos, there has been so much information it has been sometimes a little hard for me to sort out. This video clicked. I am finally beginning to get it. Feeling less like a fish out of water.

Lesson 22/60 in the Knowledge Account. Thanks, Tim!
Thank youuuuuuu
Very nice teaching Tim! It's awesome that these same rules still apply to current times.
22/60 Video Lesson: Shorting at supports; Watch history of chart; stair steps trend spike then fails down; A rising tide lifts all boats; Sector Niche Bubbles; Ride the uptrend and reevaluate the break of supports down for short plays;
I will never stop learning, no days off!

Previous video lesson exception.. previous based on good earnings and this one called out distressed banks.. news overnight and setup catalyst
Wait for the big spikes on strong volume, and then play the technical breakouts/breakdowns, and look for multi-day support levels to short.
Thanks Tim

I love how niche stocks follow each other so well, it just makes finding plays so much easier. Good to see its been happening since back in 2010 and since the market first opened I'm sure.
When a trend in an industry makes the stocks move find right set ups and recognize the tech.breakout or breakdown ride the waves and take the profits good stuff Tim thnx

Double top, learned something new!
Chart is king/trump - even when its a niche sector/ company you can still make money if you play the predictable patterns
Distress banks niche, it's fascinating to similar the stocks played out. Bounces come in all sizes. Seeing how the solar stocks had similar breakouts about the same time. I suppose that's why there's a "related" tab. Find the niche, follow the stocks. Thank you again.
Another interesting and very informative lesson! Thank you!
Another Great Lesson
No shares to short...and the bank is gone, too. 😁
Oil and gold are commodities. They can keep going
Stay away from takeover rumors
Not short selling yet so this is great preparation. Thanks Tim.
Positive earnings and gap-up...then additional run up
Great Lesson but I am not short trading yet
Watched this great lesson, not trading yet trying to learn as much as I can before I dive in. Thanks Tim !

I am starting to see how patterns repeat them selves over and over again. It’s impressive, i cant believe that I've learned this much on just 10 days. I cant wait to see what i learn in 100 days or maybe a year
thank you
Thank you.
Thanks Tim
SOLR, ESLR, CSUN, FTBK, EUBK, DEAR, hot sectors can provide opportunity. Stay away from financial stocks unless the sector is heating up. Wait for resistance to crack before shorting.

I have been here done that got the T-shirt...just 7992 to go ! Lesson is(for me): Breakouts, Cliff dive shorts and Dip Buys may occur MULTIDAILY. When SHORTING wait for MULTIDAY SUPPORT to be taken down. STOCKS HUNTING: When hunting for stocks wait for BIG SPIKES PENDULUM like...than recognize Technical Breakouts or Breakdowns and riiiiiide it babyyy till at the shooore maan and than you can enjoy and sip your coconut shell full of Kava! Thanks
Thanks Tim
wouldnt it be nice if I could catch the major spike, hard to determine, even in one of the charts you showed here, had two mini breakouts before, how do you determine if those are double tops? it later went on to soar then had its double top to fail
good info, confirmation to me that dip buying is safer, easier.
Recognize the technical b/o, and keep watching the stock for a few days, as it can b/o over the top again in a few days/weeks.
Look for obvious technical B/O or B/D and ride the momentum. Got it.
