Its perfectly fine to use.. I was able to deposit money and take it all back out. Without the PDT rule, you have to be very careful with over trading or else you will bury your own grave and blow up your account.

Try to trade once per day, don't over trade. Find the best one of your picks and go with it, or you can subscribe to Tim's alerts and go with the flow. Stop trade random stocks and you will get back on track to success.

I have really enjoyed IB. I have etrade also for an extra 3 trades. Etrade is good for going long and IB is good for shorts.

IB is great brother, i did exactly what you did. I was with eTrade and IB. IB's executions are even better than etrades from my experience and i love how they tell you how many shares short are available

I use only IB since ETrade does not open accounts for non-us. Been using for a year and dont have any complaint about it.

Commisions you are paying next to nothing unless your trading thousands of shares... instant executions I only use the book trader to enter and exit trades instantly with one click and thinkorswim for charting.

technically this is a start up, and on their website they even state that they will eventually begin offering leverage, shorting and options to their program

Basically the new Robinhood Instant doesn't do much for those with small accounts, which I'm assuming 90% of its' users are. Now instead of waiting for executed funds to come back to you account, the PDT rule applies so it really makes movement even more limited.

FAQ on Robinhood Instant - It's a limited margin account. You're credited only the exact amount of your stock sale. Cash deposits are capped to $1000 for instant availability. Must wait for more cash to clear. Must follow PDT rule. http://bit.ly/1S2iYSY

pdt rule may be good if you have a smaller account so commission dont eat up all of your money and you dont over trade.

The PDT rule was created during the dot com boom to protect small investors from themselves. It was the Wild West back then. Stocks went like 500-1000% in a day. Some people made tremendous money (like Mr Sykes and Mr Cuban) but a lot of small accounts blew up and had serious margin calls they couldn't pay. Some people lost their homes and their lives. There was even a shooting spree in Atlanta. So use margin responsibly and trade like a castrated choir boy. No hopium. Learn from the pas

Is anyone currently using suretrader? Is the bad reviews on not being able to withdraw money or high fees true?

Tim recommends this year Etrade and IB. I recommend IB. Problem is 10k is the bottom min for IB. Probably Etrade TradeKing OptionsHouse, or Speedtrader better for you. Read the details on fees and minimums.
