Sooooooo, trading stocks is cool, and it's been a good emotional boot camp. Since last we met, pushing to be a better trader has forced me to:
Take a fucking day off.
Spend time with my loved ones.
Play my bass guitar and otherwise make music.
Go outside and breathe fresh air.
NOT trade...
It took almost all month, and I'm still bagholding CETX right fucking now on WeBullshit because of overtrading this morning... *sigh* so whatever. I only have $120 in WeBS and I've been using it partially to channel my "gambling" habit as you can see, but that has helped me stay disciplined in my main TD account.
And because growing as a trader is a marathon (not Oil) and not a sprint.
Then, after that string of losses you can see on my trade list, in one day, I successfully traded three patterns I had been focusing on:
Morning Spike - $MVIS
Morning Panic (at the disco) Dip Buy - $MARK
Run Up at the Close - $MARK
because growing as a trader is a marathon and not a sprint, and I have to keep trying until I get it right. Even if I blow up my whole $600 account, it won't bring the mob to collect. Some of you reading this can blow your nose with my whole $600 account every 5 minute candle if you want. (not for long...) This feels like paper trading to me. But it feels like practice that's still important. I'm swimming left to right across the pool, along the rope, instead of longways into the deep end. But I'm still learning to swim, and getting stronger. And I get to learn the true patterns and actually make some real money when I get it right. A bit Pavlovian I know, but still an effective reward system because, you know... Pavlov.
This Month's Reminders:
My expectations were still too high for many morning trades. It might only go .05-.07 in only 5-7 mins. In Out Get Grab #Bahng (be fast)
I'm good at drawing sup/res lines. Still learning how to read them fluently to know when to trade.
Timing is everything.
Remember to Live too.
My profit chart is curling, and I've still never been red, so I don't know about you, but I can see my decimal point growing a comma. Steady on to it. Micro to Millionaire. Let's Goooooo! (but no rush)
**PS & Please Note** - I've only been trading since February so obviously I'm still very new to this. I welcome feedback, notes, and dialogue. Iron Sharpens Iron.
hey, great post, seems like you in the right track, its important not to give up and of curse, discipline...discipline...discipline! thats the only thing that will keep you better then others, allways remember that! and good luck on your jurney, i will keep an eye on it :)
