September has been a rough month using my strategy. The drop in SPX put my long positions "in the money". To prevent impact near expiration day, I rolled my positions to October expiration. By rolling my positions, I took a short term loss of 19K in September with the anticipation that I would see a 28K overall gain on those same positions in October. This strategy assumes that the market returns to my target range. If I had been able to let these positions close in September, my month would have been approximately$25K profit.
Rolling options isn’t optimal and I’ve been able to avoid rolling positions since 11/2014. Patience and persistence should pay off here. In 2014, I panicked and missed the opportunity….I won’t repeat that this year. My target for SPX is to end October 15th between 1960 and 1990 to allow me to reap optimal benefit.
WMIH went back to the Nasdaq this month, which should prove profitable for that position. Expecting a merger or another joint venture announcement.

I trade SPY instead of SPX and also I trade liquid stocks such as Goog, IBM, MSFT, NFLX, BIDU etc. Yes, selling credit spreads is great tool to generate almost constant income.
Agreed.
@XL127 , Just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to posting the suggestion to watching Karen. It has taken me to find out about Dough TV and Tasty Trader. More importantly, showing me the right way to trade options. Buying calls and puts is enough to make anyone quit trying. Thanks again.
