@XL127 I'm still learning but this looks to me like a textbook head and shoulders pattern, whats your take?

I am not great at technical analysis. I recommend Tim Knight at slopeofhope.com. He has a 15 min show on tasty trade that I watch daily where he looks at trends via charts. Hope the resource is helpful.

Thanks, I asked since you have been shorting SPX and thought this would be a strong indication to do so yet again. This is the trace I am currently researching.

I've been focusing on staying out 7%. The short position was more an event where I didn't follow my rule than actively choosing to be short. Wish I could take more credit for insight/foresight. Overall the trend is bearish....my current positions are actually long SPX but only to about 2,000. You'll like Tim Knight's perspective on shorting market...he is sort of a perma-bear. Take care.

I trade SPY instead of SPX and also I trade liquid stocks such as Goog, IBM, MSFT, NFLX, BIDU etc. Yes, selling credit spreads is great tool to generate almost constant income.

@XL127 , Just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to posting the suggestion to watching Karen. It has taken me to find out about Dough TV and Tasty Trader. More importantly, showing me the right way to trade options. Buying calls and puts is enough to make anyone quit trying. Thanks again.

@XL127 The next time you by an option can you post it here so I can get a better understanding of when and why? You seem to have a system that works pretty good. Thanks for any help you can give me. P.S.- I have watched plenty of TastyTrades. Still a ton to learn. :)

Will do. Check out my post on Dec 11 as well to see the approach...it hasn't changed much other than holding longer.

A couple recommendations: TastyTrade is a great resource and I would paper trade or start very small until you get more comfortable. TD Ameritrade has great tools and alternatives for paper trading. Depending on your approach, it can be risky/complex. Best of luck to you.
