I am going to catalog my journey from 40k to 1M here. I am a veteran trader who is an expert in technical analysis and options trading. I am looking to make the switch into a new career with Trading being a large part of that in the next 12 months. I am looking to bank ~500k to 1M over the course of the next year.
I have battled my demons on emotional stability in trading and over the past 6 months have finally overcome them.
I am going to be using this site to enforce discipline on myself to review each day.
I have multiple strategies currently focusing on holding 25% of my trading roll in crypto currencies (to hedge against the dollar puking), and trading SPY / SPX / ES / UVXY options.
Most of my trades are held for 2-3 hours. I will not be holding any options overnight unless it is puts/calls on UVXY. The loss in decay is too harsh, it will eat up your margins in a very large way.
Let the games begin.
how do you you look at trades and be emotionally stable? Im still working on this and wouldnt mind a few pointers.
Trade small enough that losing it won't impact your frame of mind. If you feel like you NEED to trade or are feeling frustrated. Literaly close your trade and walk away for the day. Once you do this enough, and you follow a system you will be fine.
Ultimately if you have a plan and follow your plan - you take the emotional swings out of it
thank you sir.
