Hey guys, I executed my very first short today (for a 100$ gain, woooo). I noticed first and foremost, I have roughly 2000 in my account, I shorted about 1500 worth, after the short sell gets executed, it says my cash buying power remaining is only around 100$ even though I should have 500$ left (2000 account - 1500 short sale). I assume its because I'm essentially borrowing and my risk potential is +100% so they want to withhold some of my cash just in case I go underwater? Any further explanation would be awesome.
But my real question is: when I go long, as soon as I exit my position, my full cash buying power is restored. When I exited my short position today, my available cash buying power remained at ~100$. Why is this? When will it be restored to full (tomorrow maybe?). Thank you so much in advance for any input, guys!

My cash buying power has been restored, took about 45 minutes from position exit. Thanks again guys!
