Holding overnight is not as seductive and sweet as it sounds. In my experience holding over night, after hrs, pre-market...can kill you. In most cases you cant just get out when you want to...as the volume isn't always there....but also if you're broker sucks and cant get your trades executed at these times. I have been in several trades where I couldn't get out whether I was winning or losing. I have been stuck all night and still couldn't even get executed pre-market. And I had to wait til the market opened in order to get executed.  Mean while I'm watching a  stock go up or down drastically..which means trades are happening and several of my orders got skipped over!! In my opinion...I think after hrs are for people with better brokers....and I feel like if the market is closed....it should be closed and no trading should go on overnight or premarket...Because whats the point of having an opening time and closing time of the stock markets!! If its not going to be a fair playing field. So I think its just shifty business and certain things go on at these times..some players know about!! Its robbery to me. So dont get into trades for overnight holding unless you have a good broker and or are sure about the trade you are in with a great win to lose ratio...or dont do it!!
