Well, for my first blog post, I just have to just come out and make this one thing clear. If you are trading emotionally, YOU WILL LOSE. If you are disregarding rules during your trade, YOU WILL LOSE. If you are following someone else "HOT PICK" and the trade is going against you and you don't cut losses quickly, YOU WILL LOSE BIG. If you keep doing the same previous 3 things over and over again, YOU WILL GET WIPED OUT COMPLETELY! I'm not a perfect trader by any means and I am coming back from a period of losses to become profitable here soon. One thing that really helped be in reducing bigger losses is.....yep you guessed it....CUT LOSSES QUICKLY AND/OR INTELLIGENTLY. Only intelligently when you become more mature and experienced in your trading as there are rules and different dynamics involved in that. But going back to what I was saying, GET OUT OF YOUR FEELINGS when you are trading. Don't sit around on your hands when a trade is going against you. WHEN IN DOUBT, GET OUT! What are you waiting for? Until your account is down over 50%???? Hold and hope is NOT a strategy! There will always be another play. Date the stock, don't marry it! I know it sounds bad but in the trading world, you will get played and wiped out clean if you marry these penny stocks. Get in and get out and keep it moving. If you leave tons off money on the table after exiting a trade and the stock keeps going up, DO NOT get back in, unless there are factors and very legitimate reasons to do so. But more times than not, you will lose money getting back in to chase what you believe that the market "owes you" and trying to impose your will on the market. The market does't care about you, your account or your feelings. Practice 1 base hit runs and quit going for the fences every time. Straighten up. Study up. Prepare yourself before trading. Get out of your feelings, get serious and disciplined!
good message Domdada, I made that mistake for holling on to long , first I want certent profit , when it miss I try to hold on, when it go down I coulda cut lose fast and lost only 70 to 120 dollars instead I take a 17% lost to my trading account. I hope and hope that always remember this #1 rule from Tim list
