I don't know if you are looking for free scanners or paid services but EquityFeed is an excellent service for scanning. If you are looking for something free and not real time you can use FINVIZ. I use them for my nightly scans

@AverageJoeTradr Hi Ed, just wanted to say that your blog is a very great help for new traders. The hardest part in trading for me is to find the tickers that I should trade. A good scanner I suppose ... Did GPRO appear on your scanner? Thanks a lot for your help. Paul
You're welcom and thank you for your comment. I didn't find GPRO on a scan today. It has actually been on my watch for several days and I have traded it the last 2. You do need a good scanner to help you find the tickers that are in play. I share what I use on my blog. if you have any specific questions about it I'll be glad to answer.
@AverageJoeTradr Very nice blog...I see that you have expanded you search criteria to stocks > $15 and are you using the standard 2dev for the VWAP?
Thanks. Yes I look for tickers up to $60 now and standard 2 deviation bands for upper and lower
Thanks for the reply. The higher priced stocks seem to have mor of a 'fluid' trend vs. the volatility associated with some of the penny stocks. Think I'll be expaning some of my serach parameters because of that...
@AverageJoeTradr Hey Ed! I found you through Warrior Trading, and I have a quick question for you. Now that you've found ross, would you still recommend that new traders get Nate's Textbook Trading DVD? I'm looking for a new guru since my learning style doesn't match sykes's teaching style.
Hi, I would say it would depend on whether you feel more comfortable shorting or not. if you like shorting I would definitely go with Nate. But brand new traders I would tend to steer them toward Ross. I feel a new trader needs more one on one direction versus a DVD. I hope that helps. Ed
@DVD_Names "The Long and Short of Trading". The emphasis would be on "Short" of course.
