0/2 on my trades so far. As I did with my previous $EKSO trade (https://profit.ly/user/wannabestocktrader/blog/872018-ekso-trade-recap) I'll make a blog post going over what I saw and my line of thinking for this trade. This is mostly to help me get back into things, as the market still feels pretty crappy, and while I have a personal goal by the end of the year trading, I know I shouldn't just #yolo chase something and hope to win that way.
Losing sucks, but so far I still feel pretty good about these past 2 trades compared to what I've seen and done in the past. Right now my core rules are no positions opens pre-market or within the first 15m of the trading day. It hurts, but in doing so, I feel like I'm just better protected overall and will be able to get profitable with this rule in place. Rule #1 cut losses quickly has been something I force myself to recite every trade as soon as it looks like it's not going to work out according to my plan. This stems from my last massive $VSTM loss and why I took time off to rethink my approach to trading.
Anyways, small losses, should be easily recoverable, so not worried about that as much as just how the markets have been pretty bad lately. I've been wanting to put my change in trend perspectives into play but there's just not been much giving me an opportunity for a while. Today's trade is pretty straight forward, I thought it had real opportunity which is why I took it when I did, but it just didn't work out.
Admittedly, I was about 2-3m too early on my entry, but in hindsight now, I still would have had the same extract trade (maybe a better fill though) if I had waited just a few mins later, but I didn't because what I've noticed is that if I see a good setup and hesitate, I end up missing it in the sense I don't want to take the trade anymore if it starts to go, feeling like I'm chasing, so I made the decision to get in as soon as I thought I saw enough confirmation about a trend change (which I was right, but the new trend wasn't what I expected).
All in all, I'm happy with this trade, like $EKSO I can post exactly what I was seeing and feel like I have a justifiable trade, cut losses quickly when it didn't do what I wanted to and the signs looked to be working against me, so I can't ask for more other than actually having a profitable trade. I think I'm on the right track, I just need to keep at it.
