I have been day trading and investing for 5+ years with good amount of success. At the end of 2020 I had made almost 1Million in investing profits and 6 figures in day trading profits but 2022 has been rough.

My investing portfolio is down 70% ytd and I have not made much money day trading this year as the market as been very slow for micro caps.

I believe swing trading is a happy medium between investing and day trading.

Benefits of swing trading

-Unlike investing which is subject to market drops and corrections, your down sided is protected by your stops

-Slower paced than day trading

-If you only go long, you can do it without paying for comissions, locate fee, scanning or charting software. I use free finviz for scanning

-Not restricted by PTD

-Can very easily be done part time

-Your entries are not close to your stop most of the time like day trading so its psychologically  much easier

-You are not dealing with super volatile low float stocks, circuit halts, manipulation and other similar challanges which you deal in day trading

-Not labour intensive like day trading, you dont have to sit in front of your screens for hours everyday

-No expensive computer hardware needed. A cheap laptop and smartphone are all you need

I think all new tradres should start with swing trading and take it from there. Lets see how it goes. Wish me luck
