I am halfway thru my second week of live trading. My first week of 5 green days was unbelievable, but only produced $400. I wanted to ramp up my earnings to build up my account to be able to trade full time. That was before monday and tuesday, I traded like a complete Jackass. I used support and resistance but threw out any form of setup. I have trained many apprentice carpenters and they always want to go as fast as I do because with experience I make it look so easy to churn out beautiful work. I am constantly telling them that speed comes with experience and you need experience first and here I am an apprentice daytrader totally ignoring what I have taught for years. The $230 or so that I lost on monday and tuesday was the best money I have ever lost because it has brought so much focus on my personal shortcomings as a trader and now I know my limitations and will work within them. This week has also brought a lot of clarity and with it I am absolutely sure that if I respect my limitations and practice the patience that all of the great traders stress time and again I will succeed and become a consistently profitable trader and I will do it full time for a living. I know that must come off as cocky but it is actually confidence of the conviction I feel inside me. One of the hardest things about learning to daytrade in a tiny town in Alaska is all of the prerecorded material I have absorbed and not having anyone else in my town on the same path. Not having anyone to talk about watchlist selections, not being able to discuss my trades, good or bad, not even another person that understands what shortselling is until I explain it to them. I wrote that first blog, first of my life, and it felt so good to say what has been inside me for the past year. This is definitely an outlet I will utilize in the future and someday in the future I cannot wait to put faces to the names of the people that have answered questions and given me direction to try and help me find my way. I get up at 4am everyday turn on my computer pullup my mail for Tim's next lesson, check lifecake for the newest photos and videos of my nieces and nephews and then I join the rest of you in the chatroom and start charting out my targets for the day. cannot wait for tomorrow morning, see you all then.
