I took the time to go through some of the most prominent traders on profitly and calculate their edge and my own:
Dux: WP=73.31% R/R=1(1.8) Edge=105%
Grittani: WP=68.94% R/R=1(1) Edge=37.88%
Sykes: WP=74.45% R/R=1(1.3) Edge=71.2%
Croock: WP=54.84% R/R=1(1.6) Edge=42.6%
Goode: WP=63.26% R/R=1(1.1) Edge=26.52%
Roland: WP=65.16% R/R=1(5.4) Edge=310.5%
Mine: WP=39.77% R/R=1(.64) Edge=-34.8%
All of these calculations were made based on the trades these traders have posted on Profitly.
The edge of a casino is roughly 6% and they make billions.
By far Roland currently exhibits the largest edge although he does have the smallest sample size of trades, so only time will tell the future. His risk:reward is insane. The point of this is to show that you don't have to make homeruns every trade to make significant $$$.
Develop a strategy that wins more than 50% of the time and earns you more than 1(1) risk:reward and scale up your size over time.
Grittani's average Risk:Reward is actually a hairpin less than 1:1 but that's likely due to a few large losses. If he isn't a shining example that you don't have to be a perfect trader to be one of the best then I don't know what would be.
Peace.
