1. Don't feel that you should always have some sort of a trade or that there should be some angle to trade. Most of the time for most stocks you should not be trading.
2. The worst kinds of shorting articles to short on are the ones that mostly talk about valuation and competition, because there's a plenty of overvalued stocks that stay overvalued for a long period of time. Allegation of fraud and having fake customers are the best ones.
3. Midday runs are not as reliable as morning runs, or late afternoon runs.
4. When you want to go long, but you see a huge offer and you have people that won't buy because they see the big offer, and they think that the price won't go up a lot. But once that offer gets taken out, the price quickly goes up. So time to buy is right before that offer gets taken out.
5. To short in the afternoon look for a crack of sideways price action.
6. Triple top is not as good as a double-top for shorting. The more times it tests support or resistance, the more its likely to break it.
7. The problem with SSR is that you cannot short on the bid, you gotta put in the order above the bid. If you want to short at the break of support, it delays your fill, and the people that are long the stock can still sell into the bid, so they are able to get out of you.
8. With NASDAQ pumps you gotta be careful shorting. Most people on NASDAQ aren't tracking pumps, those who do, will buy a pump, let it spike, people who watch momentum will get in, and then promoters will lose their power. Momentum players will be in charge. They will keep the stock up. So it is dangerous to short right when promotion is over. Promoters will be out, but momentum players will still keep the stock going.
9. Don't hold short overnight on low-floaters.
10. American stock exchanges rarely halt the stock for a very long time.
11. If the stock is delisted, it will keep trading after it is unsalted, and usually will drop in price, so if you're in it short, you can make some money.
12. Don't just use a set % or a certain number of cents as your stop-loss, use important resistance or support points.
