So I was curious because $BIOS had earnings on the third and they went up 50 cents that same day and another company $BIOC has earnings coming out tomorrow, the 7th and they are projected to be bad. will their stock still spike if they are bad? i heard tim say something about this but cant remember.

Tim says to react to earnings not predict it. Even if earnings is projected to be bad, people might react to it well depending on their expectations. So wait until the stock makes a move then you can determine whether the reaction is good or bad then act accordingly.
