@Slade74 Did it cost you then? Doesn't seem right if they allowed you to short then they auto buy them back - especially if you lose as a result.

yea it cost me. I complained to a rep and they told me that shorts are borrowed shares and that we don't own them so we pretty much give up our rights to things like that

@Slade74 how come they bought out your shares? (I'm just getting started and about to open an account with them)

Part of their policy that they have the right to do that at any point if they want to make more shares available to short or if their risk teams figure that it is to risky for them

@T_Wrecks84 thanks for the reply. Sorry to bombard you with questions, are you using the das trader pro setup and do you have level 2 orc/pink sheets? Just trying to get set up correctly. Thanks again.

@mjando24 they had some technical difficulties this week with the platform but other than that its been pretty good i think its really user friendly and my trades get executed really quickly and they almost always have shares to short, only down side i think the fees are a little high and they charge you 40 dollars to take out your money

@Airhalbert23 hi hope you don't mind me asking, how do you find using sure trader? I'm looking to open an account an the no pdt rule sounds good. Thanks

Hi, not at all. Yes, the no PDT rule is nice to not have to worry about and they do have decent availability with hard to borrow shares to short, but I wouldn't highly recommend. The commission structure and fess aren't good at all and the customer service is awful. I will be switching immediately once I hit $25,000 for sure

@ExTrader hi hope you don't mind me asking how do you find trading with sure trader? Looking to find a broker and the no pdt thing sounds good. Thanks

i have been trading with them for a year now and its good i really like them bcuz of the pdt and the only problem is with their high fees .. they take 20$ on a whole round for example they take 10$ when you buy/short and 10$ when you close your position so its 20$ .. you should make more than 20$ on each trade to be green ...

It's not that great. Their commissions (even negotiated), ECN fees, and overnight short fees are huge. If you trade here you have to learn to trade in a way that lets you consistently take 30-50 cent moves.

I don't even use their DAS platform so I can't comment on that. Looking to switch to IB soon and use a platform that lets me customize hotkeys.
