Do you remember that before you started trading you use to say "I can't wait for the weekend to get here" and now you find yourself saying "I can't wait for Monday when the market opens"
I think I can safely say that if you are reading this you are working on being a trader, I don't call myself a trader yet because I believe I am still in the learning process although I have been trading stocks and Forex for over 3 years now. My success rate has definitely increased in those 3 years but not to the point I would quit my day job.
Trading is a doubled edge sword, when you win its euphoric, you dance around the room giving yourself high 5's you blog about it, it's just a great feeling. But when you lose, you might get depressed, wanting to give up you start believing in your naysayers. But then you regroup your thoughts and review the trade and realize you can't win them all.
I know we would all like to join a mentoring program and this year I have, I joined STT-Pro with Tim Bohen and I had to really think about it because of the cost, will I succeed by the end of the year and become a full time trader. Who knows, of course I hope so but then by the fact I at first said I hope so would leave an opening for failure and failure is not an option. So yes I will become a full time trader by January 1, 2019 and shelling out 5K to be mentored was a way of me telling myself, Do or Die you SOB and get it done.
We all spend an enormous amount of time studying charts, watching video lessons, listening to audio books just so that we can eventually call ourselves stock traders. We all probably have to juggle between our passion of trading and if you have been doing it for a while it is a passion and family requirements, and we do it even to the point that we drive ourselves on only a few hours of sleep because when your sleeping your not learning.
Trading is definitely not a get rich quick scheme by no means, yes there those who catch of very quickly but for most of us it's a struggle. But we are more than willing to do whatever it takes to be a successful trader and to be like Tim Sykes, Tim Bohen and the many other gurus-mentors and I would guess it isn't just for yourself it's for others in your life. Spouse, children, parents, siblings, other family members, charity, churches and the list you might have goes on.
So we strap on our big boy pants/skirts for you ladies and get to it each and every trading day and even when the markets are closed we are doing something that will help us to become a better trader. We purchase books, DVD's we watch hours upon hours of YouTube videos all related to trading all in the quest of becoming full time traders.
It takes an entrepreneurial mind to become a successful trader, there will be those who think that becoming a millionaire trading stocks is easy because they watched a YouTube Video and they will give it a try and then fry their account so they move on to the next get rich quick scheme they come across because they want it easy. We take a look at it and see the potential of becoming a millionaire and trading stocks is the catalyst that we can exploit to achieve that goal. We don't look at it as a get rich quick scheme we see a way to become a millionaire a path so to say and we are willing to work hard to get down that path.
My ranting my not make sense to you but it is what is bouncing around in my brainpan.
Thanks of reading
Great pan food of thought...enjoyed your post...yes - it is a passion of forever learning...keep the pans coming!
@asfricksrs Thank you
Thanks for sharing this "brainpan". I was thinking of doing the STT Pro with Tim B. but letting go of 5 large is something I just can't do right now. Doing this part time, and like you said... watching every video out there is a bit overwhelming for me, but I am determined to learn. I will be keeping an eye on your +'s and -'s and hope you become full time trader. One question Did you start seeing your percentage of winnings go up significantly after joining STT/Pro? Thanks again
@Dupa Yes but I wouldn't say significantly but more consistently. Tim actually goes over any ticker you are thinking of trading and give his view on it. He does a live pre-market and post-market webinars and is in/out of chat during market hours plus he does Q&A strategy sessions during the week.
