Today had its ups and downs. I need to work on finding what works, and how to filter out what doesn't. In all, my P&L looks better. I'm playing safe, and learning the recent ropes. I'll keep looking for areas of improvement. I'll try to compose a list of themes for self-examination after a review of my trades for the day.
$CERE I held short overnight. It was a bit scary as early in the premarket session it was near my stop. As the premarket continued, it was near my target. It came close to my target in the normal session yesterday, but didn't hit it. So at the open I moved it to just above yesterday's support. It was taken within a few minutes for a profit near my target. Had I held through the day it would have been a big winner. But I'm not disappointed as that was not the plan.
$HK went way up at the open, then pulled back and looked ready for a bounce. My first trade went in but struggled a bit. I jumped out for a few pennies of profit. Things started moving in my direction so I got back in. Target was above $0.50 ($0.52), which is a round number, so decided to get out a bit early for a $9 profit. It eventually touched my target, but not above. In all, I believe it was good to get out early. In the future, it would be good to think about the round number problem before getting in.
$SPHS another bounce play. It had built a little support just below a previous low. I expected a little bounce. The stop was easily placed close, so r/r was good. I was not trend following, so cut my size. In and out in less than a minute on target.
$GBR was halted after a dizzying high. After the halt was removed, the spread was huge. Tried long and got stopped out. Tried again, failed again. Adjusted my stop and my position size. 7 minutes later was out at my target. Definitely room for improvement, but one to work on.
Each day is full of opportunity to learn and improve. If I don't examine each trade, the market environment, and my mental state I will be losing very valuable information. What I sacrifice in time looking at the charts will pay off in the future.
