Good Afternoon everyone,
I am new to this whole thing, have been paper trading for a few months did really well with that, but now I am trading for real with an account I opened of $350. So far I am up to $415 on 4 trades, but as I check the chatroom everyday I see all these people making a lot more and consistently seeing moves that I am not. Additionally I am looking for a new broker. As of now I have been using Merrill Edge because I already had an account with them and it was easier to move money within the company; however I cannot short any stocks with them and their research tools and platform isn't as fluid as I would like, takes too long for price changes to appear, and it takes too much time to fill orders even on my small positions. What does everybody feel like the best research tools are?
Don´t forget how much the 65$ is percentage wise in relation to your account. Then people post winners faster than their losses. Be patient. The longer you trade a certain setup to a certain time of the day, the more you get used to it and will see other chances to create something else.
I've been trading a little longer than you and my overall record isn't nearly as good as yours. Keep plugging along and you'll be seeing your acct grow. I also think sometimes the people we read about have larger sums to use.
For example - I took 500 shares of AVEO on Fri at $2.80 and dumped this AM at $3.00. Told my wife I made $133 bucks and got no reaction. But - I did have the coin to take 1500 shares but I figured I need to be more consistent first. I bet $399 would have got her to smile!
@KillaGorilla thanks
