Hi, I am a beginner and I've been looking all over to find an explanation of what a market maker is and what they do. For example, does one market maker cover many stocks? 

Maybe it would help if someone can explain it in the context of Tim's house sale example in MM4 Lesson 5 (around 12 minutes into it).
