Hello, first of all this is more of a journal entry for myself to serve as a reminder as to what is working for me.
Long story short, I started with a $2000 account and grew it into $4000 in December. Along the way, I started buying too big and buying too often. Suffering from loss after loss I stepped back and reevaluated what needs to happen.
This week I have been sizing down my entries into only 100 shares, this means that you can get into most stocks under $10 with a VERY small account.
Using what I've learned from How to make millions as well as many other DVDs, the following 2 tickers were textbook and damn near identical to the example live trades on How to Make Millions.
$SINO on Monday reported earnings, just like the example on HTMM with $TCCO and its contract win.
Toward the EOD, if you HAVE watched HTMM you should've spotted $SINO forming a support level around the 4.15-4.20 area. The combination of the first day earnings report + support + power hour EOD, this was a no brainer to go long for myself. After getting in at 4.29 I was able to sell off my shares after hours at 5.36/share.
Next ticker this week was $TOPS.
$TOPS has been on my watchlist for obvious reasons. As I saw it was gaining volume and moving up the ladder on my watchlist, I took a look at what was going on. The intraday chart showed $TOPS was near the HOD, attempting to breakout. Again, the time was just before power hour, so I knew this would be in play for me at some point. BEFORE you buy any stock, you need to research at why its up (earnings report) and where it's sitting at on the daily chart. This was the first green day in a while for $TOPS. At first I bought 100 shares of $TOPS at 2.62 AFTER it had broken out from the previous high of day. I was now into power hour at this point. The combination of the earnings report + power hour + first green day is the reason this stock went nuts for the next few hours. I was up over $100 now. The next morning I wake up to a gap up and added an extra 100 shares onto my position, raising my average to 3.62. I ended up getting too greedy and selling at 4.23, taking home only $125.

Lessons to take away from this:
Buy during busy hours, early morning and late day. There is more volume/volatility to help you.
Buy at support levels that hold support, this reduces your risk and reduces your losses if you are wrong.
Watch the damn DVDs....like 50 times over.
