First time placing an order prior to market open. Tried to catch before the gap up from 0.35. Filled exactly at my Limit at 0.37. I sold prematurely at 0.39 due to fakeout. I wonder if I would have been executed at 0.36 if I had set my limit lower?

This was my third trade ever. Tried a morning dip buy. It was good experience as to how quickly a dip can end (1 minute). Left early via market order, thinking (perhaps wrongly) that this would be a faster and guaranteed execution, even if sacrificing the spread. Commission ate most of my profit.

Tried to execute the same morning dip as Tim, but lacked the experience to know when to exit (I thought the dip wasn’t over). Price action was wildly jittery “fighting for every penny”. My lesson: Don’t enter in the first place if I’m not comfortable with the price action. A better opportunity will come along. All considered, I’m glad I took the loss quickly.
