Bought earnings play before earnings. Bough 2 $15 calls and 2 $10 puts. Calls won. Will post losing side (Profitly doesn't pull expired options). Total purchase price was $99 Sell price was $189
Attempted to buy breakout early. Strong in premarket and then got slammed at open. Took loss before it got worse.
Copied Tim. Was up decent on day 1, then the next day company announced financing deal and I bailed. It was threatening to collapse below a dollar...took quick loss. In reality, the stock retraced back to previous high later in the day. Oh well.
Buying on the close as it appeared to be running up. Momentum faded and I chickened out of overnight hold.
NFLX Option Expiration Trade Thesis: Break to 52 week high. Buy calls with target of $200. Good: Thesis was correct (price hit 199.88), but no way to know if $200 was realistic. I took 1st profit @0.45 for 2 of my 5 options. Bad: Option price hit nearly .80 (500%+). I left the 3 options that were my profits on the table to let it run ($1.50 option price). This was ridiculously greedy and I wound up losing it all as price came down and since this was expiration day, premium evaporated.
