I was scrolling through the leaderboard and saw you on the list I took notice that you are also from Denver, Colorado. IS their any chance you can teach me how to trade better I am a beginner and recently just started my broker account with etrade I am a twenty year old student attending Cu Denver and trying to learn but I can't find nobody. I just recently bought the Tim Sykes Dvds and going to buy a subscription to Tim alerts with my next paycheck. I know this is ramdom coming from a total stranger but it's worth a shot. @criggs821

@Cesar303 I ususally play a couple - which I'm not necessarily sure is a good thing, but I often find a couple that I like on a given day. It really depends on how much you have to trade because if you have say only 2k or less you would would probably want to stick to one play. If you are over 5k, you can look at a couple. Some days it can be tough to stick to one, even though Tim often talks about only focusing on one or maybe 2 at a time.

A lot of times I'll play a couple pretty heavily with the idea that at least one of the two will really move and if needed I can exit out of the other. But with the PDT rule (assuming you have less than 25k) sticking to one at a time is the right idea. The PDT rule is something you should become familiar with if you are not already!

how much did you start off with when You began trading? I only have 2k to start off and I'm in a margin account but idk how margin works so I just stick with the liquid money I have to trade. But I was wondering if it is a good idea to go all in if I only have 2k to invest or should I just start of small? @criggs821

@Cesar303 I started off with 2k as well. I eventually added more to it. I think that if you see a stock you feel would be a good opportunity, then going all in is a good idea ONLY if you can be available to watch it. You want to be able to get out of it if you want. Also be sure to know when you want to sell so you are ready to go.
