Why I want to be a trader. The most important question you could ever answer is why? Your "why" is the reason you get out of bed everyday and do whatever it is that you do. Your "why" is what prioritize' your life. A lot of people think it's your "want" that drives you, but your "want" is only the idea, your "why" is the reason. Almost everyone says they "want" to be a millionaire, but only those with a strong enough "why" will ever be one.
So why? Why do you want to be a trader? Do you want to be a millionaire? Well, why do you want to be a millionaire? Is it because you want to boast in front of friends and family? Or because you want to buy a nice car or house? Do you want to pay for your children's college, wedding, house...
The list could go on and on but the important thing to remember is always ask why! The more "whys" you can answer, the greater your odds of success! The reason being is that your why should be at least ten times your want, and you won't find out if it is or not unless you keep asking yourself why, and at some point you'll have answered enough whys to know for sure.
Think of the little kid who always replies with, why? We've all had this happen to us at some point I believe. A kid asks a question and then no matter what you reply, they always say why? Then they'll just keep asking and asking and asking. Why? Why? Why? But your answer is never good enough, until finally you snap and put an end to it once and for all.
What I'm trying to say is, you need that little kid on your shoulder always asking "why"? If you snap after just a few whys, you'll never make it. The more why's you can answer the greater your odds of success.
So "why" do I want to be a trader?
I want to be a trader because I'm tired of busting my butt to make someone else rich. Why?
because I want more free time with my family. Why?
Because I want to be able to actually take a vacation. Why?
Because I want to try the finer things in life like nice cars and big houses. Why?
Because I want to travel the world. Why?
Because I want to prove to all my nah Sayers that it can be done. Why?
I want to be a millionaire at the age of 40 and I'm 35 right now. Why?
I want to buy my wife all the fancy purses she likes so much. Why?
I want to be able to make my own schedule why?
I want to be able to do what I want when I want. Why?
I want to stop worrying if I'm going to be able to pay my bills why?
I want to make sure my family is taken care of when I'm gone why?
The list could go on and on but I'll stop here at 11. The point is, if my only want was to be a millionaire, it wouldn't be strong enough to keep me going when times get rough. Also in your pursuit of happiness you need indicators telling you you're on the right path. They act as your mile markers on your journey and as you travel down the road of life make sure to check check them of your list as you go.
So in summary I want to be a trader because I want the time, money, and freedom that it offers as well as the ability to learn for myself and prove my self worth to myself and not try to prove it to my boss.
When you have a "want" you need to break it down with "whys", if you can get 10, you have a great chance to win!
My "WHY" is to prove myself that I can predict the market and I will win.
