Lets start from the beginning shall we. The first time I heard of or seen Timothy Sykes was while my wife and I were watching one of our favorite shows at the time called "Below Deck" Don't judge me, I know the show is stupid but it was entertaining. Back to Tim Sykes, So the first time I saw Time Sykes was on this show and I'm not going to lie, I thought he was a complete douchbag! At least thats how the show made him look. I remember watching and thinking this guy "Timothy Sykes" is such a jerk and a piece of S#*t, who is he to complain so much about the wifi on a yacht lol. Then the way he was treating the crew because his precious wifi wasnt good enough for him. But then at the end of the show he throws down a big pile of cash for a tip and it dawns on me that this just must be how rich a$$holes do things.
The funny thing is that I didnt even know that it was actually Tim Sykes until a few months later. I was trying to start a roth IRA and invest for retirement so I was putting away $50 a week for a year and I thought the bank that I was using would show me a pretty decent return after a year, but much to my surprise the they returned a whopping $4! I was pretty furious because I thought It would be more like $100-$200 so I was pissed and said I could do better on my own investing in stocks by myself. The only problem was, I had no idea about stock other than they were a little piece of a company that you purchased and if the company grew, then your money grew along with it.
So I started my journey looking for all the right information on how to invest and win. After several months of reading a dozen or so books, I finally started investing on my own starting with a $2,500 account and a little knowledge. After about a year of that I grew my $2,500 into about $7,000 all on my own and I thought I was doing pretty good for myself, but then i started seeing all kinds of adds about the Timothy Sykes challenge (thanks to all the spys at google and facebook and their targeted adds!) so I started researching and learning as much as I could about Timothy Sykes and his "Pennystocking" strategies.
It had been several months or maybe even a year or two since I watched "Below deck" and it took me a few to realize that my new "Guru" was this same prick I had seen on TV! But when I realized it was the same person I couldnt believe that this was the same guy. I mean he still came across as an arrogant a$$ that liked to show off his toys and throw $30,000 watches but lucky for me, I got to see a whole other side of him. I realized that the show is just that, its a show, a means of entertainment, and that show in particular always made the guess to look like rich a$$holes, so my mind was blown when I got to see who Tim really was.
At the end of the day, he was just being him. A real dude with real problems (as I'ver learned wifi can make of break you in the market at times lol) long story short, the more videos of his that I watched, the better I got to understand who he was. He's a teacher with a proven method of trading stocks that can make you very wealthy as long as you follow the rules, or it can sink you when you stray away from the rules. And the fact that he does so much charity work only proves that it really insnt all about the money to him and that he knows he's only successful if his students are successful, and I promise, all of his students will be successful as long as they follow the rules (esp. rule #1 cut loses quicky, I struggle with this one but I'm still new so I'll learn quick)
With all that being said i will say this, i got really excited when I joined Profit.ly and started out by breaking all the rules, trading too much, not cutting loses quickly, trading just to trade...and because of it, my $7,000 account is down to just over $5,000 but it's all because of my own stupidity and greed. I remember one of the first trades I did after I started with profit.ly I couldve had a profit of around $3,000 but i got greedy and before I knew it I was barely ably to get out of the trade with a $300 profit, so take profits early as well.
With all of this being said, I'm glad I found Timothy Sykes and didnt realize it was him from that show below deck or else I might not have put as much time and energy into learning from him. Now i cant get enough and i study every spare second I get. I know I have a long road ahead of me but I also know that haveing a great teacher and mentor like Timothy Sykes will cut my learning time dow so i'll be profitable before too long. My goal for my first year is to turn this now $5,000 account into a $50,000 but I still need to join the Timothy Sykes challenge so I might have to pull some funds out once I get enough to join.
Nice, thanks, but also understand I did this http://tim.ly/yachttrade aboard the Below Deck yacht and was ecstatic thinking they'd show it since they got it all on camera and it was a great $70,000 profit for me...they did not so I just look ridiculously happy/douchey for no reason...but in reality I had 70,000 reasons
@timothysykesOh yeah I know! That's why I'm completely "On board" with you now :) Trust me I'm learning everything that I can from you so that some day in the near future I'll be trading on a yacht next to you! Once I can get my small account up enough to join your challenge I'll be all in and I'll quickly rise to me your next Millionaire student, in the mean time I'll just keep studying and watching everything you throw my way. May the markets forever be in your favor!
