So this is my first trade since starting the challenge. It's exciting watching the trade happen live!
Was watching $MSRT and my plan for the day was to buy it at $1.75 and sell it at $2.25.
Pre-trading the price had shot up to around 1.75 from it's previous close of about 1.68.
Minutes after trading opened, I put in my buy order for 1400 shares @ $1.77.
Shortly after the price went up to 2.17 and started dropping. I panicked and sold 1000 shares for 2.05
Of course it then bounced and went up to 2.25, I sold my remaining 400 shares for 2.15 on the way up.
I locked in my profits. $450 on the day.
I had to fight the temptation to get back in, and told myself to be happy with my profit for the day. That's more than most people make in a day and it's not even 9:30am (CST)!
Glad I stayed out when I did, because as of this post the price is dipping into the low teens.
Nobody knows what's going to happen with a stock. I had a plan, and I stuck to it for the most part. I'm not prepared for what happens next, so I best stay out until I can figure out my next course of action.
Good job buddy! I have been studying on and off for about a year now and still haven't sustained the gaul to jump in yet, love seeing other's succeed though! I will keep checking in to see how you are doing, us beginners have to stick together for support. I would also recommend checking out Investors Underground if you haven't yet. Tim's got a great foundation of knowledge though, these are the right guys to be following for sure!
Nice! Fighting that temptation to jump back in is probably the hardest emotion to conquer so definitely more congrats on that even more than the win itself! Best advice I can give is the more you study the charts the more confidence you will have when the time comes again of when to jump back in or not. Jumping back in should already be part of your pre-planning which comes from studying and knowing that particular stock's patterns. I'm still learning myself but I have learned the many ways to p
...to play it safe. I'm rooting for your success! :D
Great job!
