I sign up for everything free. I can't tell you now how many websites that show alerts to stocks on my computer browser or phone. If a website offers to send me notifications about a stock, I subscribe. Most of these are paid promotion sites.
I heard a guy in a chat room say "it is a Nasdaq stock and those don't get promoted". That is ridiculous. YES! They get promoted too, and when they do something is lurking behind the scenes like an offering or some other kind of dilution of share structure. It can also be insiders selling shares for profit through a third party.
When I see or get emails into my account from one of these free sights and I see a huge gap up premarket. I almost always try to short at the top. They are more often than not pop and drops. I don't get them often, but when I do I take advantage of them. In the emails, there is usually a disclaimer showing how much the promoter is getting paid in either shares or $$$$. I don't do this on otc stocks but on bigger exchanges where the share structure is 100 million or more. I go short and never buy.
They don't come along often, but when they do. I go short and don't buy into the hype. Hope everyone has a great week trading, and thanks for reading.
