Shorted on a gap down 2nd red day @ 6.60 using 6.80 as my risk area. It squeezed a bit and hit my stop so I exited the trade. May have shorted a little too early. 6.90 was high of day and 7.06 was r/g. Maybe should have used r/g as risk and waited longer, but I traded my plan and managed my risk. I'm learning to short.

This was one of my best trades ever. First, it was my first live trade in over 5 months of studying. Two, I had a solid plan going into it the night before. This was an earnings winner b/o above 52 wk highs. It had already consolidated in a HTF pattern and the earnings win was the catalyst to shoot it to new highs. Small trade with not a lot of risk. I let the chart show me the direction it wanted to go and sold into strength after I saw a huge volume spike. Nice $0.50/sh gain.

One of those trades that went against me the split second I entered the trade. I actually tried canceling my bid just as I was being filled. The price action just didn't look right at the moment. Disappointing to be wrong mere minutes after you enter a trade, but I followed my mental stop which was 3 minutes later. The stock did bounce up after it hit my stop, so I could have reduced my loss. But ultimately the stock crashed later in the day, saving me big time.

Really small trade. It didn't go as I planned and hit my stop for a small loss.

Shorted because it was looking to take out the morning lows, but it didn't crack and started to squeeze so I covered for a small loss. But overall it was a frustrating trading morning that left me very disappointed in my trading. I followed my trade plans, but its still all about timing.

The opening freaked me out by dropping hard on my entry. My software web browser closed on me when I was setting up my sell order (which I do after I buy) and I hit the backspace button (I found a google chrome fix for that!), so I got right out when I logged back in, only to have the stock go up .37 in the following 2 mins. Frustration!

Shorted this way over extended stock when it opened at 4.15, and went red on the day, but it didn't crack like I wanted. In this trade my original entry was fine (100sh @ 3.74, but I had untimely add near the bottom (100sh @ 3.64) and I exited my position before I got squeezed too much (200sh @ 3.83). The stock ended up going up to 5.40. Larger loss than normal due to my horrible add, suretrader commission fees, and this was my first short in months. But I want to learn to short.

Earnings winner that I attempted to buy on the dip. 100 shares @ 14.62, Stop @ 14.40, target 15.21. Bottom line is the trade went against me and I didn't respect my stop. I knowingly held for a little longer than I should have and ended the trade @ 14.33, so I took a slightly bigger loss then I should have. Still did react fast enough to avoid an even bigger loss moments later. Maybe going long is my weakness? Still studying short selling.

Goal was to buy this earnings winner on the b/o above 3.62. Clear skies until $4. Stop @ 3.58. I bought at 3.63 and got stopped out as I was a day too early on this pick and mistakenly took it off my watch list. I was correct to follow my plan and take the small loss, but the lesson here is to keep a better eye on EW's and don't give up on them so quickly. This stock went up to $4.35 the next day on a clean $3.62 b/o !! :-/

Dip buy attempt on this biotech based on technical support. In @ 8.86. Stop @ 8.71 .. target was $0.50 - $1. Unfortunately I got stopped out, but happy to finally attempt dip buying and emotions didn't get in the way because I traded my plan. Only was up about $0.20/share .. not enough to matter.
