I have been testing a new trading plan that I have been adjusting in the last months. I joined in Nov 2017 and started to track my trades (all of them including big losses). Transparency is the key in trading, you cannot hide your mistakes, you cannot ignore you were wrong. Since I was trading with two accounts, different systems, one was great and the other one was the same mistakes. I decided to unify all trades, no matter which accounts which is a terrible approach, I wanted to bring my profit in the chart. Later I realized if I keep mixing the trades, I won't be able to track the success in a proper manner. So I tried to delete trades from one account, and leave just one. Then I found out you need to delete, trade per trade. For that, I had to go to my broker statements, identify my trades and remove all of them, which is time-consuming. Magically I thought, try to remove all trades and import them back and voila, profitly did not retrieve my trades from 2017 and 2018, only 2019 were imported. I lost track of the old ones and have metrics of the recent ones.
Advice from this:
1. Track all trades (don't hide your mistakes)
2. Don't mix up the account records, track them separately.
3. If you delete your trades, all data will not be retrieved if you want to import it back.
Cheers
