Entered the trade a little late and was kind of chasing for the breakout that’s why I exit the trade quickly when i realized it was not squeezing or spiking as i expected. The stock is reacting to positive pre-earnings release and was trading on strong volume. Preferred to have bought it in the morning dip: when there was floor action (support) holding or after the morning spike once it has pulled back and created this higher low.

Disappointing loss, I had profits and wanted more. Then I panicked once I was in the red and exit near the support level. I went with a small position to make sure i would hold it longer as i thought it could squeeze which it did. I cut my losses quickly without realizing the bigger picture and changing my trading plan.

The stock had spiked in reaction to the positive announcement. The trend quickly faded off its highs and got to a level, where it was basing on support till late afternoon. Once it started to run again, I hesitated and therefore missed the second run. I didn’t want to chase, which was good discipline and waited for the pull back to happen. Once it showed me a clear support level to risk off I entered and made sure to respect any resistance since it was already up a lot.

Traded Pre-market when I noticed there were big buyers coming in at the pulled back from its pre-market morning spike in reaction to positive research article. Once it made a lower high and held that grinding up action above the VWAP I entered the trade risking off the recent low.

This was a very lucky trade and should not be repeated. Chasing strength from a stock that is hyped by a chatroom can easily go wrong (like it did). I caught the exact top and was in the trade for less than a minute. These kinds of plays should only be traded on dips and prefer the stock to have a solid catalyst to make it interesting for the dip buyers.

Cut the trade at the wrong time mainly due overthinking about my position and not focusing on the chart. It was a clear breakout with volume and the stock has been strong whole day based on the reaction to the catalyst. By not knowing my risk level and the trading plan in general before entering the trade. I reacted confused and not certain once I was in the trade. So I didn’t realize that the dip was holding and missed the opportunity to ride the upwards momentum.

Waiting for the morning strength to fade and showing the double tops then lower high as a confirmed weakness. Gave a good setup to short the backside move of the morning spike. The support level was respected and turned out to be right as the bounced appeared. By knowing how the stock reacted prior day (morning spiked and closed in the lows) this hints that the stock has weakness and had the possibilities for G/R move.
