Markets have had a powerful rebound off of last Wednesday's sell off. NDX and SPX both reached new all time highs today. The markets are looking over extended on the charts but the technicals do not say over bought. So we may see some more moves to the up side.
COOL: Back in late March the stock traded up to a high of $18.90 and then over the next 6 weeks made a declining wedge pattern. At the lower edge of the up trending channel line it found support and 4 days ago broke through lateral resistance at $14.00 and traded as high as $17.25. Today it traded to $17.35, closing at $17.28. You could go long over today's high with $18.90 as the next resistance level. Over that and we should see $22.00 and longer term $35.00.
GLYC: After its sharp run up last week and then the retracement, it has recovered all of the gains. Today it made a nominal new high at $14.80 closing at $14.00. Not as strong as a close as I would like to see but, still the stock is holding up very well. I would look to go long over today's high with $17.50 as my price target. Short ratio, 16.5 days to cover.
HDP: Stock has been in a steady up trending channel since late last year when it bottomed in the $7.00 range. Today it came up to resistance from the recent high of $13.76 and broke through trading as high as $13.89, closing at $13.84. It is at the top of the channel but appears to be accelerating. A break above today's highs and $16.00 would be my target. Short ratio, 8.7 days to cover so could add momentum tot he trade.
KTOS: A stock I have written about in the past and I have been watching closely. Today, I went long the stock at $10.50 on the break out but sold it for small gains. It is not that volatile but just seems to keep chugging up. Probably better as a swing trade as I have price targets of $12.50 and $15.00. Short ratio, 6.6 days to cover.
NVCR: A another stock I traded profitably today buying the break out above $12.50. Back in late March the stock spiked up on a big break out to a high of $14.30 before pulling back to support at $10.00 Since then it has been forming a steady up trending channel. Today it popped out of that channel trading as high as $13.70 before closing at $13.05. It really needs to break above $14.30 with a price target of $17.00 and then $19.00. Short ratio, 4 days to cover.
PBYI: Huge winner from my watch list last night as I wrote to go long over $60.00. Stock added $15.00 from that level trading as high as $75.10 closing at $74.95. If this momentum continues then $85.00 and $100 are the next price targets. With the short ration at nearly 10 days to cover it could add a lot of momentum to the trade.
TCS: Stock gapped up strongly through resistance at $4.60 and traded as high as $6.00 (resistance level) before backing off to $5.50. I am watching for follow through and a break above $6.00. If it can, then $8.25 is the target. With a short ratio of 23.7 days to cover, shorts could get squeezed in here.
Thank you Bob! Appreciate your response. How much is the overnight fee for short selling? I can't fully understand their overnight fees.
each stock is different. Take the percentage they charge for an overnight fee and divide by 365 and that will give the cost to borrow per day. For example say you had an $1,000 trade over night and the borrow fee was 10%. 10% of $10,000 is $1000 divided by 365 = $2.74 per day you hold it short.
sorry I meant $10,000 trade
Thank you very much Bob! I admire your work and success. Hope that you had more success in the future.
