AKTX: Huge move today. The stock traded as high as $18.40 closing at $14.60. It is over bought having moved from $7.00 to $18.50. I imagine the stock will need to consolidate in here as the recent high is a resistance level. But over $19.50 and we could see this stock run big again. Shorts, 2.9 days to cover.
CARA: Stock had a nice day today as a continuation from yesterday. After trading as high as $21.00 late February and then formed a following wedge coming down to touch both the moving averages and the lower edge of the up trending channel line. Today the stock traded as high as $18.70, closing just off the highs at $18.60. It needs volume to get it over $19.00 for a price target of $21.00 and then $23.00.
CLNT: Stock was up in the afternoon on contract news trading from $2.90 to a high of $6.95 closing at $6.72. It is ultra low float, but this price move on fluff news cannot be sustained. I will be looking for a good entry level for a short but only with a small position as it moves very quickly.
FRED: Earnings winner today had a big move up to a high of $14.98 before closing at $14.29. I might look at it long over $14.40 but a G/R move I will look to go short.
HTGM: Low float stock that had a sharp move up today trading as high as $8.13, closing at $7.24. But, after hours it traded as high as $9.25 pulling back to $8.32. If this move today is viewed as the closing the 4th wave of a 5 wave move, and it stays in the up trending channel, then $10.50 is a possibility.
NVCR: Stock had a nice reversal today off of the $10.00 support. It traded as high as $11.21 closing at $10.95. It needs to trade through $12.00 and if it can then it should get back up to the $14.00 high. Through that level and then $17.00 and $19.00 are the targets. Shorts 20 days to cover so well worth watching.
SALT: Shipping stock that is in a very strong up trend. It trade off of support today and made a nominal new high trading as high as $10.08, closing at $9.80. I would look to go long over today's high with $11.00 as the price target. I wouldn't be surprised to see it there tomorrow.
@AshTrades you're welcome. I had asked the same question :)
Ash is right. It is just a ratio. Less than 5 not much difference. A number between 5 and 10 and it should add momentum to a trade with a catalyst. Over 10, and watch the fireworks begin
Hi @Turbobob , I just found this link that has a column called "Days to Cover". Would you agree on those numbers? http://www.nasdaq.com/symbol/nvcr/short-interest
I use 100 day average volume in my calculation (or 90 days off of yahoo finance)
