So just a little background on me,

I am 34, married for 12 years with 4 children,

I first discovered the possibility of buying and selling stocks from home in April 2020.  Before that I was convinced that the only way to access the market was through a phone call to a broker.  This discovery instantly excited me and launched me out of a 2 month long bought with depression I was in due to losing my job as an insurance agent caused by the pandemic.  

I made this discovery simply through an ad on Facebook by Robinhood. I instantly downloaded the app, opened an account, and deposited $100.  I was convinced that I could easily double it, but I made a conservative goal of just making $20 the first day.  Needless to say, that didn't happen either.  

I shortly after discovered Tim Sykes and quickly signed up for anything that was free!

Over the course of the next month, I deposited a total of $1,800 in four different accounts.  Robinhood, Webull, ETrade, and IBKR.

I dove into trading using STT but by the end of June 2020, (just 3 months after starting,) I was down to about $1,000 in all accounts total and I pulled out.  I canceled my STT subscription and walked away.  

I talked it over with my wife.  I was convinced that the PDT was to blame!! We decided that if I was going to trade, I needed a lot more money to start!

So, I went to work!  Living in Pennsylvania there are thousands of dairy farms everywhere, and with a trucking background, (prior to my attempts as an insurance agent,) I started to drive a milk tanker.  This all with the idea of saving $25,000.  

Hence the name, “Truckin2Trade”

It took me almost a year of overtime, but I did it!  I finally had $26,000!!!  I quickly put it all in my IBKR account!! It was a long 4 days on hold, but available to trade with on April 26, 2021!! 

My wife and I made an agreement that I would only be trading with the $1,000 that I had above the 25.  I would leave the $25k alone to act as an untouchable deposit that just gave me permission to trade unlimited!  I listened to this self-made rule at first.  But by the end of May I was getting frustrated that I was still losing.  I ended up dipping below the 25 and started a downward spiral of bad decisions! 

I deposited another $500.  And possibly the worst decision of all, I canceled my STT subscription again.  I started blindly trading using only my IBKR mobile app.  Along with that I was trading during work.  NOT WHILE DRIVING THE TRUCK, but while waiting at the dairy, and while waiting on milk to pump at the farms.  Sometimes even holding positions while driving to the next farm.  Only to arrive having lost more money than I was going to make that day at work!!

I kept just throwing money at it.  Taking bigger and bigger positions.  Sometimes even putting the whole account down on a quick mover.  By September 2021 I had put in a total of over $31,000.  I gave up the second time and closed my account.  In the end I pulled out only a little over $22,000.  I had lost almost 9K!!

I decided I was bound to just drive a truck for the rest of my life.

About a month later my wife came to me with a dream that she wanted to chase.  She was at the time a registered nurse on the ICU at Gettysburg hospital in Gettysburg, PA.  She told me she wanted to be what is called a travel nurse.  She would, instead of being a full-time staff nurse at one hospital, she would take short term contracts at different hospitals all over the country.  This would more than double her current salary and allow me to stay at home, all while getting to travel.

I completely supported her with her idea.  She signed her first contract on November 1, 2021.  It was for a hospital in Fort Myers, FL.  She put in her notice at Gettysburg, and I put in mine at work as well.  

We moved to Florida temporarily starting on December 2, 2021.  I am currently a stay-at-home Dad of four wonderful children.  They are between the ages of 7-12.  We have homeschooled them since they were in K5, so the transition went smoothly.  

I have never lost my love for trading.  I have decided to do it right this time.  Even though we currently have more than the required 25k to be above the PDT in our account.  I simply deposited $2,500 last week and am proud to announce that as of 7pm Thursday 1/27/21 I have officially applied for Tims Millionaire Challenge.  If accepted I will be paying the required 7,500 and diving in, EDUCATION FIRST!! 

I was up until 1am that night completing my homework!
