UPDATE 7/31/2016: New trading blog week 8 posted
DAILY WATCHLIST - I am in the process of simplifying everything and developing my set-ups as well as a business trading plan. My goal is to make trading as easy and simple as I can. I am starting with the watchlist. I do not look at Natural gas anymore because it is too volatile for me.
FUTURES: I REVIEW S&P 500 E-MINI, OIL, GOLD, AND TEN YEAR BONDS EVERYDAY
S&P 500 MINI: or /ES on think or swim:
MY LAST WATCHLIST:
We are holding 2155 and seem to be attempting to push higher. I expect us to hold 2155 today and continue to push to 2164 or higher. It is likely we push to 2170 today. If we fall below 2155 I expect to sell off today back to 2146.
MARKET BREADTH($ADVN-$DECN in Think or swim):
Market breadth was positive and you could have tried to buy if you had appropriate risk/reward measures.
RECAP: We almost hit 2164 right on the nose. I impress myself sometimes. If only I could have traded it….. The market had a little volatility in the morning and mid day as we
TODAY'S WATCHLIST: Today may be volatile as we have non farm payroll at 830 am est. This is a big macro event so it is better off to stay on the sidelines if you are new. If we fall and hold to 2154-2156 I will be looking to buy. If we fall any lower I won't be playing this.
Oil or /CL on think or swim:
MY LAST WATCHLIST:
I expect oil to continue to be bullish today. I expect to take out the overnight high of 41.41 and headed near 42 or more.
LATEST OIL NUMBERS:
API WEEKLY:
-8.3M vs -2.3M prior 7/26 fx street (Could be wrong)
-1.3M vs. -8.3M prior 8/2 fx street
EIA:
+1.7 vs -1.5 trade the news
1.413 vs -1.8 fx street 8/3
RECAP: We made a base and held 40.50 and then shot higher to 42.08 as the high of the day.
TODAY'S WATCHLIST: I expect oil to head to 42.50 sometime today. The expectation is to see buyers in the afternoon.
Gold or /GC on think or swim platform
MY LAST WATCHLIST:
For today I expect to head to 1370 and I am still thinking we head to 1400 in the near future.
RECAP: Gold did touch 1370 once again but was unable to hold this level.
TODAY'S WATCHLIST: I think we attempt this again today toward 1400. We need to stay above 1355-1360 or we will fall back toward 1340-1345. Be aware of non farm payroll today.
10 Year Bonds or /ZN on Think or Swim Platform
MY LAST WATCHLIST:
I expect bonds to head back to at least 132'200 before attempting higher again. Usually these types of things give back ½ the move on news.
RECAP:
We pushed up to 133'030 without little mean reversion.
TODAY'S WATCHLIST:
We are holding 133'030 level well and if we fall toward 132'100 I will be looking to buy. Be aware of non farm payroll today.
If you use think or swim, I added the quotes you can put in if you want to look at charts for yourself. Knowing these future levels I mention is also very useful if you track ETF's like UVXY, NUGT, UWTI, UGAZ and others.

When trading /ES using Ichi, do you use trailing stops? If so, how do you calculate them?
Personally I don't use trailing stops. I do use OCO order. I only tried one contract so on in OCO order I have a stop and a profit target. If you want to use a trailing stop it probably should depend on if your swing trading day trading or what you want to do personally.
