Hey just a quick post, I feel it's my duty to really shove my nose into this one. I can't explain why I did this, my psychology was just out the window and I broke almost every rule I have on this one trade. I got too used to winning and just froze so in some strange way I needed this wake-up call.
I have been shorting very specific patterns but the dumb part this time was that it was on the single hottest stock both premarket and afterwards. I waited for a good retracement and a failed test of the spike which it wasn't a very good test but it then started flowing downward but was stopped by resistance of the early mini spike @ 7.20. I'm used to this part of the pattern going sideways so I thought, "no big deal lets give it time". I mentioned I didn't like the doublebottom though and said its basically a channel between 7.20 and 7.70 ish so if it breaks 7.70 of course I need to get out. then i basically kept making excuses after that. then it breaks HOD and my dumb ....butt stays in and I still can't figure out why.
Guys, I can't even make up any story as to why I didn't get out, I really can't. No major distractions, honestly I'm just too used to this pattern playing out well. I've literally written a very specific plan around this pattern, enough material for a book. Seeing it fail this once is kind of a blessing, although a costly one.
It's a love hate thing really. I love learning but of course I HATE loosing money.
Next time I won't be that "Deer in the Headlights" and I won't be so numb/in shock.
I hope you all have a good friday of trading,
I'm out for now, no plays for me unless theres very specific price action

There was a movie recently called Get Out, its very similar too what happened on this trade. Go see it!

Right on, keep pushing. Yeah I take losses very seriously, I learn from them and make a new rule or two then I push on. I love it all and I love to learn.
