My Journey Being Shared
It's been a very long time since I last posted anything on here mainly because I'm using Tradervue to track and analyse my trades since the end of summer but I did just post ALL my trades since September.
Something happened to me back at the end of August where I went on a losing streak with around a 40% draw down on my account. This challenged me in may ways! I was mentally off my game, unfocused and ANGRY.
I had a really bad problem between sept-dec where I would take a loss on a ticker and then trade it over and over and over again all in the same day like a boxing match that I NEVER won.
I was at the point where I thought long and hard about packing it in and moving on BUT I decided to step back, regain my focus and stop "Squirrel" trading as I call it. Since January 1 2019 I've been much more focused on taking the setups I know to work, cut losses quickly and also take profit into strength and move on to the next!
This is my chart since Jan.1 2019 and what I want to point out is the large drop circled is from 2 "squirrel habit" trades that cost me! Had I just taken my loss $300 loss and moved on my PnL would be up over $5000 now.
This is a marathon and not a race so please take the time to reflect on all your trade, good and bad habits and then make the necessary adjustments to last long enough to become one of the 5% that actually make it in this business. The odds are staked against you and I so use EVERY tool available to get through the learning curve.
One tool I've started using is video blogging my trade reviews good bad and the ugly in full exposure mode. These videos I used privately for only my viewing but have now opened up my Youtube for others to view and hopefully learn from my mistakes and take away from my good trades.
Please feel welcome to follow my channel and I will keep making videos for as long as I can. :)
I made a video lesson last night on the importance on cutting losses quickly and I have a few others on some panic dip buys I've done in the past. I hope you enjoy!
