Note to self:
At the start of the year, you have been a very profitable trader. Starting at the beginning of the year of 2024, you made a lot of profits, and those profits added up quickly. You were surprised (and so was your wife). However, you were not impressed because you said to you self that you needed to figure out how to maximize your trades. You were going for quick gains, and these quick gains were adding up--$100 dollars, $200 dollars, and $300 dollars.
It all seemed un-real. Mainly because I finally became a consistently profitable trader. What changed my profitability was my obsession with "catching" a supernova play. Once I started to try and catch a supernova play, the odds were not in my favor, and I went on these huge draw downs and lose all of my profits. My consistency went out of the window (as well as my confidence). Seeing how I could not catch a supernova, I continued to try. I told myself, "Maybe I am close to figuring this thing out. I will give it another chance."
After giving myself chance after chance, I finally decided to quit trying to catch the supernova and focus on small gains and increasing my confidence. WISA was a ticker that I made a profit on, which was $126 dollars, and this money is fine. Actually, it is really GOOD! However, I lose my WISA profits because I tried focusing on catching a supernova the next few days and took a big lose on SELF ($500 dollars), a ticker that didn't do much of anything and barely had any liquidity (and volume) to get investors interested in buying the stock. Once I refocused my attention on small gains, my profits started to come back, and then I lost all of my profits again once my attention went back to my OBSESSION with trying to catch a supernova.
So, not to self, I PROBABLY NEVER FIGURE OUT HOW TO CATCH A SUPERNOVA, but I have cracked the Metrix of the Stock Market to profit consistently and that's fine until I figure out how to profit on stocks that are going parabolic.
Lesson 1: focus on small gains
Lesson 2: do not try and catch a supernova
Lesson 3: stick to what I know best
Lesson 4: repeat lessons 1 through 4.
