So if I'm going to post a watchlist for whatever reason I'm going to follow up on it. This will help me gauge what I see per the resulting price action along with making it easy to find for my own purposes. And, allow you to judge me as well if you chose to. I may or may have not trade these tickers for the week but would be posted as 'From The Watchlist' in the trade notes if I do.
Not going to do this every night because there are enough tickers in play on any given day.
Will try to do this on the weekends for a few reasons:
1) I would rather a full week pass for a given stock to give the daily chart room to play out. I try to look for a momentum shift in the daily chart per Friday's close and go from there; to the upside = buys. Remember, these are 1 minute charts that contain all of the daily gyrations of a full day. There are 6 and a half hours in a trading day which equals 390 one minute bars. Within those 390 one minute bars is where we look for that 20 or 30 cent move or more. This move may or may not be contrary to the daily chart but I would rather it be in the direction, going long, per what I see in the daily.
2) Until I 'go pro' and trade for a living I have to remain biased to the long side. Most of my trading is done away from home and I am limited to screen space because of that. I did have an account with IB and TOS at the same time and traded with IB while using TOS but on one screen it was not easy for me; moving windows around etc. So, I am with TOS because they have the best charts and the order entry is very simple. TOS does have fewer shares to short however, those numbers seem to be on the rise.
If you are a higher volume and account balance trader you may be able to negotiate commission costs. It doesn't hurt to ask.
