These are not necessarily low priced and low float, except for $CEI, but they are giving up some very good price ranges every day. If you can trade 3K shares of a $5 stock why not trade 1K shares of a $15 stock also?
Higher priced and float stocks may not be as volatile as the lower float/priced stocks and therefore their trends may be a little more predictable due to the larger and consistent daily trading volume.
These stocks are bullish momentum plays but even so they can still be shorted at extremes during the day.
Note what the major indices are doing during the day as well since higher cap stocks can follow the lead of major indices during the day.
