And this is the reason....
I'm with TOS and I have to be biased to the long side and I have missed out on a number of shorts becuase they do not offer many tickers to short. Why are you still with TOS you ask? I simply like their charts over anyone else so that's where I am. Tried ETRADE but the fact that their price does not autofill with the live price bugs me. TOS does have tickers to short but not as many as IB sems to have. At work I am limited to screen space and I prefer the TOS charts so that's the main reason I am still with them. However, if IB's Web Trader is a simple web based trade platform then I don't need to use any of the news feeds, charts, analysis, scans, etc. since i do all of that in TOS.
So, for those that use the Web Trader platform and might even use TOS for charting, scans, etc., is the Web Trader platform simple or small enough, screensize ( small window) to use if you are only using it to enter orders and use as you main broker but might use another platform for charting? If so, instead of using their full Trader Workstation platform and have TOS running at the same time on one screen could get very crowded and 'entry error prone' trying to squeeze evrything on one screen.
If I could use TOS for cahrting and only the Web Trader that would allow me to trade more from the short side since IB has more tickers to short than TOS.
Comment at will...
Thanks
Tradefire has nice charting too imho
I use TOS charts with SureTrader's WebtTrader. it's very simple and doesn't take up much resources but I have to record my trades and request refunds of extra $4.95 commission charges from time to time.
I use IB WebTrader, infinitely better others, read http://tm.ly/timbroker for all my brokers
Thanks everyone. Looks like it might be worth checking out...
