I just talked to Tims team and just moved forward with the challenge as a birthday present to myself. My birthday is tomorrow, 7/30. It's a lot to swallow with the cost of tuition but I'm done being less educated and taking backward steps.
I was asked by Mr. Blackman, *the interviewer*, that I'll be getting an email from Tim to introduce myself and to layout some goals for myself going forward. So I figured I'd lay them out here and give me a chance to type it out and hear it out loud.
Short Term Goals: Study. I want to learn as much as I can as fast as I can. I think I'll slow down if not stop trading completely and I'll trade paper on Stocks To Trade. I want to dial myself in because all I have is $2100 to trade with in my account. I plan on listening to Tim's webinars and video lessons while I drive. I drive up to 10-14 hours in a day.
Long Term Goals: Quit trucking. I want to become a full time trader. I don't necessarily need to make a Million but you know, money is a motivator. I want to be a great trader. I want to be able to help my friends and family and be the guy I wish I could be, but without money, I can't be.
My goals are pretty generic, but I really can't tell you what I want. When people ask me what do i want for christmas, i'm like I dont know. If this can replace my job, and I can have more home time to spend with friends and family and earn enough to live on, thats a WIN in my book.
A little about myself, I'm 31 years old, turning 32 tomorrow. I've had a number of jobs over the years, from factory work to train conductor to now a truck driver. I'm a fun person with a shy side. I've dabbled with stock trading since I was 21, my grandpa actually got me interested and told me I should buy a company called "Oil Sands", which had made him money, but my grandpa didn't do any research. Just followed emails that said "buy this hot stock". So I opened up a Scottrade account and put $800 in it and bought Oil Sands stock. Well months later the stock went to $0 and I lost it all.
Fast forward to early 2009, I was a recent graduate, and rumors of Bitcoin were going all over the forums I read. And I could have bought 10,000 BTC for $1. And I was going to buy $10 for giggles and talked myself out of it. $10 for a broke high school graduate was almost a full tank of gas. Well, I stopped paying attention to this Crypto nonsense, and then one day I glanced at it and it was at $500/share. I read some article of a man who made millions on this Crypto known as Bitcoin. And I was like fml, woulda shoulda coulda. And I still didn't buy into it. I couldn't afford $500 for 1 BTC. Then in 2017/2018, I looked and it was over $3000/btc.
Anyways, fast forward to 2019, I worked a full time job, 3 days a week. I put 36 hours in in 3 days, so i decided on my 4 days off that I'd get back into trading stocks. I had $1500 to play with, so I opened up an Etrade account, and youtubed random stock videos and came across Tim Sykes. I immediately joined Profit.ly for the chatroom. I did ok, but not great. Broke even over the next few months. I ended up quitting my job due to covid health reasons and canceled my profit.ly.
6 months ago I got my cdl and started truck driving. Great money. But it's not what I see myself doing for the next 30 years. So i relaunched profit.ly and saved up and watch How to Make Millions. At the end of the DVD I was so motivated I contacted Admin and they put me in touch with Robert Blackman who talked to me about the challenge and interviewed me. I had to save up for another week which happened to land on my Birthday weekend, and gave myself the biggest gift I think I'll ever give myself in this lifetime.
study hard Padawan, i'm pulling for you!
thank you thank you
