So yeah... I could have turned 6k into 15k (I trade on 30k currently) today but, I canceled the buys at 7:05am....SOB! Is all that can be said.
I started working on a new stock picking method and today was the first day I was going to test with real monies. I picked $NERV & $FLXN as a 7am buy at post close price (2k flxn, 4k nerv). I open the trade books and see 0 volume, I think "Is my brokerage firm having a server crash or something? Because this crap should be on FIRE! by now..."
I had the trade tickets already setup in my head but when I saw the volume I second guessed my new strategy.
I held the cash back...
8:50am... I checked the picks and see 250%nerv/15%flxn pops... !!!!!! WTF was I thinking when I second guessed myself!?
I honestly would have instantly sold a 250% pop... no questions asked... 15% pop I MAY have sold capital and let the gains ride...
Either way... It's painful and hard to learn lessons when you lose money and just as hard when you miss out.
The key is not losing clarity and develop yourself into a trader, it is a skill just like anything else and professionals learn to trust their instincts as well as their numbers.
Thanks for reading! Good luck out there and stay focused!
@G_Moe22 I am hesitant to give advice as I have only been trading for 4 months. This strat is fairly simple but, I am still working on it. I will post it on my wall right now.
@G_Moe22 I am working on a wall post. Will try to get it done tomorrow. Don't want to miss anything.
I had NERV on my radar right before the open and didn't have time to do my full research but the setup I saw was a no brainier so I jumped in on it and held about an hour and saw a reversal in the trend and sold for a very small profit, but after I sold I found out it was a fake dip and continued on for another 3 dollar gain per share
So I missed the real profit but Im happy i didn't lose and I was able to spot a winner before it happened, this stock is still near the 52w high and hasn't broke it, a see another great run for this stock, timing is everything
