Longed this into the close as it had an intraday breakout and increased volume into power hour, but failed to respect the overall lack of total intraday volume. As I was watching, I should have waited for the next day with 5.20 being the support, but as that would have been -10%, I didn't want to hold and hope 5.20 proved itself. Turns out it did, but no matter. Moving on.
When a stock pops above the P/M high, give it a few minutes to prove the b/o is legitimate. This popped and flopped on me.
Got very lucky on my entry and exit prices as this morning spike was in about one minute before crashing. Thrilled to have my first trade this year AND it being a win. This was a Blockchain play, but recently the blockchain plays have started dwindling, although of course there's always winners this wasn't it. Another failure for this is the R:R wasn't very good only having about a 20% w.o.o until the next hard resistance. Still happy for a win.
Unfortunate that a halt came in and killed the rest of the day. Should have sold A/H when the stock hit $7, but the 50% gain after the reopen had me hopeful. Originally had a 5.30 buy price but the stock spiked too quickly and it didn't get executed. Shouldn't have chased this. Few more lessons learned.
Thought this would have been big as it was a 52w breakout. I didn't give the initial pop enough time to prove itself before taking my position. I could have given the support more of a chance to bounce. Lessons upon lessons.
Well, this happy accident ended up accidentally selling a few seconds after buying. Turns out it worked out because the stock went lower.
Was very confident with this. When I entered, the stock fell a few more cents, but bounced back through the rest of the day and the following day, and never saw my entry price again. I was able to sell this while working as i saw it having trouble at 2.80. I wanted to sell a little higher in the 2's, but it was struggling so I took a safe profit. Still getting my feet wet with this system, but i'm happy with the result.
Just happy still getting my feet wet. Trading with 500$ positions for now.
