4-09 Watchlist
Stocks made more upward moves today as indexes have recovered nearly half of all their losses due to this pandemic. Thursday will be the last trading day as its Good Friday coming up. Jobless claim numbers will come in tomorrow and they’re projected to be staggeringly high again. As many U.S. states enter the apex of Covid-19, the case count nears 500 thousand in the U.S.. Despite all the grimness, the markets continue higher; futures up around half a percent in time of writing.
MNK- is a speculative earnings play but they’re projected to beat earnings once again. After coming down big time they’re on the rise. There’s an unbelievable amount of shares short, over half of the float. If shorts get squeezed this thing will absolutely skyrocket and vice versa. With good volume, price nearing a whole number, just shy of $3.00, and the sheer amount of shorts, this will be my number one stock to watch. It’s down only a few cents after hours.
MBRX- announced that 2-deoxy-D-glucose (“2-DG”) which reduced the virus that causes COVID-19 by 100% in vitro testing, according research. I like this play as it broke multi-month highs and tried for $2.00 with massive volume. I’ll be watching the $2.00 mark to see if it can break that.
CAPR- was recently upgraded big time as Capricor announced use of pathway, CAP-1002, its novel cell therapy currently in clinical development for the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy, is being used to treat patients with advanced Coronavirus. Two patients at Cedars Sinai Hospital in LA have received the treatment and both are presently clinically stable. It got close to breaking $2.00 but had no luck where it consolidated just shy of its highs. Not long ago it broke past $2.00 but couldn’t hold for long. Key target is around $2.30, and then it’ll bust past multi-month highs with $3.00 being next resistance.
GTX- couldn’t find any news but this stock is finally bouncing off its lowest lows since its IPO. It has been in a steady downfall but jumped up 35% today. I’ll be cautious of this one but I want to add it because of the potential upside.
