Can somebody please tell me why Us little guys, apparently are not allowed to trade between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m., pre-market hours, and can only trade from 8 a.m., 1 1/2 premarket hours, to 8 p.m. full post Market hours? I am told that TD Amerirade only allows institutions to trade full pre-market hours, AKA 24-hour Trading, versus partial pre-market trading with the little guy like me. I have missed out on two trading opportunities, and actually lost money, because my currently held stocks, went up during those hours, and I was unable to execute, although I had a GTC/EXT order in. What am I missing here folks?

Get a broker that allows you to buy/sell in full AH/PM. Also, market closed to all 8PM - 4AM EDT
Extended-hours trading is not for everyone. You’re going up against professionals that have better access to data, giving them an advantage. Second you have to make sure you send your orders through the ARCA network
Yes, I know all markets are closed from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. I am seeking to trade from 4 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., pre-market. But apparently I can only start at 8 a.m., meanwhile while other institutional Traders, are trumping all over my stocks. And, what is ARCA Network
