I've been a Timothy Sykes student since the beginning of 2017 and there's been a few critical elements that I learned to adapt myself in as I continue to study and grow as a trader. You see, success rarely happens overnight, but one can position themselves for success by consistently studying, researching, and preparing oneself for the trading situations that one tested over and over again. With that being said, here's 3 critical elements that I've learned as being a Timothy Sykes student for the last few years:
1. Understanding oneself as a trader: In stocks, there's many patterns, behaviors, and tendencies that are within each stock that you trade in and after a while, I began to see certain patterns within stocks that fit within myself. What I mean is, stocks that fit my personality. As a trader, understanding both my strengths and weaknesses is important to only fit my style of trading, but to disregard certain patterns and stocks.
I'm an extremely patient individual which for me is my strength and for stocks, I must find patterns that fit my personality which often times, I may simply go through long durations of not trading. Fitting what stocks best suits my personality allows me to not be overwhelmed during changing market conditions and allows me to set a strong foundation for growth in the future.
2. Studying is key, but consistency is critical: I've seen over the years different traders on this platform which have started running out of the gates so-to-speak studying extreme hours for a long duration of time. After awhile, studying at the pace isn't sustainable for both growth and longevity as a trader and many of those same students burn out and give up.
If one has been a Timothy Sykes student for even just a small amount of time, one thing one will understand is that trading is a marathon and not a sprint which in many ways, translates to gaining knowledge as a trader. This focus of finance takes time and learning to be patient when growing one's knowledge is critical for the development of a trader. People come from all walks of life and in different situations as a trader; patterns change, market conditions alternate, and so should one's willingness to pace themselves in this long road to becoming the best trader one can be.
3. Embrace oneself to who they are and not what others think they should be: One important aspect I learned over the years is that each of Timothy Sykes most successful students are a little different in their own way. With that being said, it's important to understand the successes of each one, but not being afraid to craft one's trading based on who one is and one's traits as a person. Simply put, one cannot simply mimic others and expect the same success; it is important what each successful student has accomplished and fitting their perspectives on different trades that can help one grow as their own independent trader.
At this point, the future is bright and I can't wait to what 2020 brings and the opportunities that are ahead for me. Below is a detailed list of the content that I've studied so far which I hope can help:
