These stock tickers move fast. Mark Crook taught me to avoid dip buying one-day runners. Most of the time, these big first green days (FGDs) turn into all-day faders after the morning move. Every morning, we see new big % gainers—new tickers getting thrown around the chat room. Sometimes that's useful, but other times I realize I’ve got too many names on my watchlist and I’d be better off focusing on the best 1-year, 1-day charts. I haven’t had much success chasing the new shiny object each morning. I do better focusing on the best plays from a couple days ago—the ones traders tend to forget about.
